Map Literary: A Journal of Contemporary Writing and Art

Internship Opportunity


Our internship opportunity is available each fall and spring semester at Map Literary: A Journal of Contemporary Writing and Art--an online and print magazine published by the English Department at William Paterson University. 

Learning activities and intern duties will cover the following:

--electronic publication process, including webpage creation and website archive maintenance;

--submissions management, including evaluation and editing of manuscripts and correspondence with authors;

--promotion/advertising, both traditional and via social media; audience, subscriber, mailing list development and management (regular and electronic); 

--traditional print chapbook production (all stages of printing/publishing process);

--grant writing.

Where appropriate, some duties may be related to WPU's Spring Writer's Conference and/or M.F.A. in Creative and Professional Writing program development. 

An eight-hour commitment per week (on campus as well as electronic) is required. Some previous technical experience (Weebly, Wordpress, Submittable, Mailchimp, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Word, Mac, etc.) is preferred but not required.
